Arsenal are currently packing 63 points, three points behind Chelsea. They also still have two games more savings than the Blues.

On paper, the team nicknamed the London Cannon should have won over Watford. But Arsenal were overshadowed by a bad record on away games.

Watford eliminated Wolves thanks to Gerard Deulofeu’s two goals and Troy Deeney’s penalty.

Watford won their last three home games in the Premier League, namely 1-0 vs Everton, 2-1 vs Leicester and 4-1 vs Fulham. Deulofeu and Deeney are also in great form.

Deeney contributed 5 goals and 3 assists in his last 8 appearances for Watford in all competitions. Meanwhile, Deulofeu carved 6 goals and 2 assists in his last 8 appearances. They both are the biggest threat for the Gunners in the match later.

Arsenal is actually on paper stronger. At the first meeting of the season, Arsenal even beat Watford at the Emirates Stadium with a score of 2-0 through goals from Mesut Ozil and suicide Craig Cathcart.

Arsenal also just won 2-0 to host strong Napoli in the quarter-finals of the Europa League first leg. Aaron Ramsey’s goals and suicide Kalidou Koulibaly gave the Gunners good capital for the second leg in Italy next week.
